Cook Children's PRTP partners with graduate programs in clinical research, public health, and health administration to provide meaningful internship and practicum experiences within a leading pediatric academic medical center. We are actively expanding our graduate partnerships to serve more students across disciplines.
Expanding Partnerships: PRTP currently partners with UNT Health Science Center for MS-CRM internship placements and is actively working to formalize partnerships with MPH and MHA programs. We welcome inquiries from other graduate programs seeking to establish Cook Children's as an internship site.
Every graduate placement at Cook Children's is designed to be substantive, supervised, and aligned with your program's practicum requirements.
Interns work alongside PRTP faculty and staff on active research administration projects, gaining hands-on experience in a pediatric academic medical center.
Each intern is paired with a preceptor who provides structured guidance, regular check-ins, and professional development support throughout the placement.
Placements include defined learning objectives, milestone check-ins, and end-of-cycle evaluations aligned with each graduate program's practicum requirements.
Interns connect with researchers, clinicians, and administrators across Cook Children's — building relationships that extend well beyond the internship.
PRTP works with the following UNT Health graduate programs. Each program brings a distinct focus that complements our research mission.
The MS in Biomedical Sciences – Clinical Research Management equips students with the knowledge and skills to manage clinical trials that bring new medical treatments to life. The program blends biomedical science, regulatory expertise, and leadership training. Cook Children's PRTP serves as an approved internship practicum site for this program.
The Master of Public Health program at UNT Health offers four specialty concentrations — Epidemiology, Biostatistics & Data Science, Public Health Leadership, and Maternal & Child Health. 100% of graduates are employed or continuing education in their fields. PRTP is actively working to establish a formal partnership as a practice experience site for MPH students.
The CAHME-accredited online MHA program prepares working professionals for leadership roles in healthcare organizations — hospitals, clinics, managed care, and public health systems. The curriculum covers strategic management, financial leadership, quality improvement, and health policy. PRTP is working to partner with this program as a capstone and internship site.
